Dr. Radha Krishna Sarvepalli

Dr. RADHA KRISHNA SARVEPALLI ("Radha") - passed away peacefully in his sleep in Buffalo Grove, IL, USA on Saturday, August 31, 2024, as he was visiting his son that settled in the USA, from India.

Radha was born as the third of seven children to the late Sri Subba Ramayya & the late Sri Rama Seshamma in Nellore, India on July 10th,1942 and grew up to be a medical doctor by profession.

During his illustrious medical career, he developed specialized skills on Oncology & Hematology, working in reputed institutions like Adyar Cancer Hospital, Chennai, India and later came to be known as 'blood bank doctor' amongst one and all. In addition, he was possessed by a deep-rooted scientific zeal to explore the medicinal potential of several indigenous plants and continued his informal research into the same until his last days.

In 1963, he married the love of his life and medical school classmate, the late Dr. Savithri with whom he had an enviable lifetime partnership, until her sudden demise in 2017 and they raised two beautiful children together. In addition to a mainstream medical career, he had strong leanings in theatre - working as a stage artist and also as a director, producer of more than a dozen television serials and feature films in India. It is a matter of pride that countless tributes have poured in with people recalling his charismatic good humored personality, perpetual pleasant demeanor and philanthropic nature.
