Jennifer Row-Zureikat passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on Friday, February 13, 2026. She left this world surrounded by family, concluding a life marked by resilience, intuition, and quiet determination.
Jennifer was born on September 21, 1954, in London, Ontario, Canada, to Marion (Wass) and Albert “Bill” Row. She grew up alongside her older sister, Sherry, and younger brother, William in a lively home shared with Great Danes and Persian cats. Her father, a photographer, delighted in capturing images of his blonde-haired, blue-eyed, spirited girl with smiling eyes and unforgettable dimples. Her mother, a nurse who was raised on a farm, filled their home with warmth and homemade desserts.
A woman of style and substance, Jennifer valued beauty in all its forms. She studied Fashion and Design at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto before beginning her career in textile sales in downtown Toronto. Guided by a deep sense of wanderlust, she traveled extensively and developed a special affinity for the Middle East.
In her early thirties, Jennifer met Amjad Zureikat, a physician from Amman, Jordan, who she married in December 1986. After welcoming four children, they moved from Wilmette to Lake Forest, Illinois. A strong-willed businesswoman with an entrepreneurial spirit, Jennifer brought her passion for fashion from Canada to the United States when she opened her own women’s clothing boutique in Lincoln Square. She thoughtfully sourced merchandise from Canada and introduced her clients to unique international finds. In the years that followed, Jennifer skillfully managed the family’s real estate ventures.
She also spent the next 30+ years of her life raising her family. She loved encouraging her children’s independence, supporting their athletic and academic endeavors, and hosting gatherings in their welcoming home. She trusted her children deeply and took pride in watching them live boldly and fully. Even as adults, her greatest joy was celebrating their milestones and spending festive evenings filled with laughter and stories.
Jennifer is survived by her four children, Geoffrey (Jennifer) Zureikat, Jacqueline Zureikat, Julia (Nicholas) Childs, and Jacques (Angela) Zureikat, and her three beloved grandchildren, Dimitri Childs (2), Zachary Zureikat (1), and Chloe Childs (4 months), with more blessings to come.
May she rest in peace, and may her memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Jennifer's honor to One Tree Planted. Contributions may be made at onetreeplanted.org.
